In this publication, scientists describe an analysis of the rates of HIV progression in several patients. They determined that reduced viral replicative fitness appears to be associated with patients whose infections do not progress to advanced AIDS. Deep sequencing of the HIV-1 genome was performed on the Ion PGM after size-selection with Pippin Prep.
