The SageELF can be used for whole-sample protein fractionation.
SageELF automatically electrophoreses protein samples and elutes whole proteins from the entire gel lane into 12 juxtaposed micro-elution modules (25ul) in as little as 30 minutes. Unlike in-gel digestion, in which some peptides never leave the gel, all of the proteins are electrophoresed out into the elution modules.
Fractions can be analyzed by mass spectrometry, or the enriched pools of targeted proteins can be used for a wide range of other downstream applications, including affinity capture, HAP reduction, light/heavy chain parsing, and enrichment of rare proteins. SageELF also reduces sample complexity for bottom-up or top-down proteomics experiments.
